Are you thinking about replacing or getting a conservatory for your property but don’t know where to start or if it’s going to benefit your property? We can help, below are some of the key benefits of having a conservatory, as well as some of the styles of conservatory we install, maintain and upgrade.

The benefits of having a conservatory on your property

A conservatory is well known to increase the value of a property of around 5%, that could be more than £15,000. As a conservatory connects your home to the outside space whilst protecting you from the elements, it also creates a flow from your internal to outside space. One of the main benefits of a conservatory is it gives you an extra room without the cost of an extension. In most cases you will not need planning permission to have a conservatory, meaning there is nothing holding you back from getting started on your project.

The main styles of conservatories we offer

At Severn Windows we offer a huge range, style and variety of conservatory, from all the well known and loved classics to something modern, streamlined and evern a bespoke shape and size. Here are our most commonly installed conservatories:

Edwardian

An Edwardian conservatory is usually a square or rectangle shape and tends to have an apex or pitched roof.

Georgian   – The Georgian conservatory style features a flat front and a square or rectangular symmetrical shape. This makes the Georgian conservatory a really handy shape for laying out furniture and plants, with no wasted space.

Victorian  – Victorian sun-rooms and conservatories tend to offer ornate high roofs and a faceted or rounded appearance.

Porches  – A conservatory porch creates a grand entrance to your property, helping your home to stand out from the crowd. As well as providing you with some valuable extra space, installing a porch conservatory also offers a number of additional advantages.

Lean to  – Lean to conservatories can also be called sunrooms or garden rooms, trapping the winter sunlight and converting it into heat through the glass. The simple shape of the lean-to conservatory gives you the maximum space in a highly economical style.

P-Shaped  – The P shaped conservatory combines an Edwardian conservatory roof with a lean-to combination or double hipped roof. A double hipped roof allows the conservatory to be installed to a bungalow or single-story extension

T-Shaped  – The T-shape is a combination conservatory style featuring a central projection. It can be Victorian, Gable or Georgian in style.

Lantern  – Lantern conservatories feature a two-tier conservatory roof on different levels. With lantern conservatories, the overall impression is of height, light and grandeur. A lantern conservatory is spacious and offers an uninterrupted view of the sky.

Orangery  – An Orangery has a roof that has a solid roof perimeter with a glazed area in the centre. They are often glazed on all sides with bi-folding doors and fixed panels.

Gable front ended  – With a gable-end conservatory, the front of the roof doesn’t slope back to the centre. Instead, the front of the conservatory stays upright, like the end of a house. A gable-end conservatory is square or rectangular in style, like a Georgian conservatory.

Bespoke  – Exactly what it says on the tin, at Severn Windows we can create a completely bespoke shape and size conservatory, incorporating your favorite features from any style, material and finishes.
